Game Breakdown
In the first half, the Panthers opened with a 15-7 lead at the 15:37 mark. The Panthers continued to hold onto its marginal lead up until the 3:31 mark when Caden Clark made his layup and got fouled on the play. He went on to hit the free throw giving Fontbonne a 46-45 lead.
Fontbonne never relinquished its advantage the rest of the way and headed into the locker room on top, 64-62.
Fontbonne shot 56.5 percent from the floor in the first half and were led by Anthony Jones with his 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Caden Clark nearly had a double-double with 11 points and nine assists. Elijah Rice was 5-of-6 from the floor with 11 points as well.
In the second half, the Panthers tied it at 68-68 on Kaidyn Johnson's 3-pointer with 18:33 left. From there, the Griffins went on a 10-0 run in just two minutes and 13 seconds to lead 78-68.
Fontbonne kept its foot on the gas and gained some breathing room with a 105-89 lead with 9:55 remaining on Carter Collins layup.
With the Griffins shooting an astounding 79.2 percent from the field in the second half as they missed just 10 shots they were able to go on for the 31-point win.
Caden Clark, Elijah Rice, Anthony Jones, and Carter Collins combined for 60 of the Griffins 90 points in the second half.
