Game Breakdown
After the Gorloks tied the game at 15-15, the Griffins went on a 6-0 run leading 21-15 at the 10:03 mark on Kevin Anders made jumper.
At 7:11, the Gorloks tried to stay within arms reach with Javane Nugent going 1-of-2 from the line cutting the Griffins deficit to 27-22 with 7:11 remaining. However, the Griffins took control over the next three minutes going on a 9-0 run with Brent Wagner recording four straight points giving them a 36-22 lead.
At 1:44, a 3-pointer from Wagner gave Fontbonne a 42-28 advantage, but the Gorloks closed out the half on a 5-0 run trimming the Griffins lead to 42-33 at the break.
Fontbonne shot 54.8 percent from the floor in the first led by Elijah Rice with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Will Suellentrop added nine points and five rebounds.
In the second half, after a 3-pointer from Webster that put them down 51-42 with 12:49 left, the Griffins put the game away over the next seven minutes going on a 20-3 run taking a commanding 71-45 lead.
The Griffins remained in control the rest of the way holding onto its double-digit lead to secure the 22-point win.
