Men's Basketball Five-Game Win Streak Gets Snapped Against Panthers

Fontbonne had three players in double-figures led by Jaden Betton with a season-high 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting and 7-of-7 from the line. Caden Clark added 12 points, while Adam Painter finished with 10 off the bench.
In the first half, the Panthers put Fontbonne in an 11-3 hole at the 14:40 mark on Jake Kampf's 3-pointer. Principia remained in control stretching its advantage out to 30-16 with 5:14 left on Clark Davidson's layup.
They held that double-digit lead the rest of the way going into the locker room on top, 43-25. The Griffins had its struggles from the floor shooting 32.1 percent.
The Panthers, meanwhile, shot 55.2 percent and hit nine three-pointers. Jaquan Adams led off the bench with a game-high 13.
Fontbonne improved its shooting in the second half, but the Panthers were still on top 62-47 with 6:35 left in regulation.
The Griffins kept battling going on a 10-0 run over the next three minutes as Betton's free throws put them down, 62-57.
Principia answered with a 4-0 run pushing its lead back out to nine with 2:32 on the clock. The Griffins got it back down to 66-61 with just under a minute left on Brent Wagner's 3-pointer, however, the Panthers fended off the comeback attempt for the win.
Fontbonne shot 37.3 percent from the field, while the Panthers ended the afternoon connecting on 47.2 percent of its attempts. The Panthers held a marginal 38-34 advantage on the glass.
