ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University men's basketball team are the defending champions of the SLIAC Tournament!
First seeded, Fontbonne defeated fourth seeded, Spalding with a final score of 80-48.
Team Highlights
- The Griffins held the lead during the entire game.
- Fontbonne had 23 points coming from the bench.
- In the first period, the Griffins went on an 8-0 run.
- Ethan Chartrand led the floor with 20 points.
- Cheikh Thiam recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- Adam Painter was two rebounds shy from a double-double with eight boards and 12 points.
- Brent Wagner was named Tournament Most Valuable Player. He drained a half-court buzzer-beater at the end of the first half to help extend the lead to 19 points.
- Elijah Rice and Adam Painter earned All-Tournament awards.
