Men’s Basketball Heads to Trine for First Round Matchup
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Fontbonne University men's basketball team will open the 2024 NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday against the host of the opening rounds Trine University Thunder in Angola, Indiana.
The Griffins qualified for the NCAA Tournament after winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament and enters the tournament with a 20-7 record and nine consecutive victories. The host Trine is 23-4 overall and received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
The other First Round game at Trine will feature Coe College from the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C). The 21-5 Kohawks received an at-large bid after coming up short in their conference tournament semifinals. Coe will take Wabash College, the champions of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). The Little Giants enter the NCAA Tournament at 20-8.
This is the second consecutive tournament appearance for the Griffins.

ALL TICKETS will be sold AT THE DOOR and patrons can pay with CASH or CARD. Tickets will be valid for both games on Friday and Saturday tickets will be sold separately.

From US-20 Maumee Street, head south on Summit Drive (follow signs to Trine University Athletic Fields).

Fontbonne and Trine will be played on Friday, Mar. 1 at 7:10 p.m., following completion of the first game by Coe and Wabash at 4:40 p.m. The two winners will compete on Saturday at 7:10 p.m.
