St. Louis, MO - The Fontbonne University Griffins took down the Westminster Blue Jays, 95-69. Kaden Augustine posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Charles Nelson led the team once again with 27 points, and three assists.
Kendall Horton scored 21 points, and had two assists and three steals. Jordan Lewis added 13 points, five assists and six steals, while JP Ruble dished in seven assists.
The Fontbonne Griffins pushed the Greenville Panthers to their limit in a heated 118-115 battle. Star forward Charles Nelson led the Griffins with 28 points, while guard Jordan Lewis followed shortly behind with 26 points and eight rebounds.
Despite their relentless effort, the Griffins couldn't overcome the Panther's offense coming in clutch in the closing moments. Though the loss stings, the Griffins' performance signals they're a rising threat in the league.
The Griffins offense shined by outshining the Panthers 60.3% to 39.3% in the field.
