Fontbonne Men's Golf Sits In Fourth After Two Rounds At The SLIAC Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Two rounds of golf are in the books at the SLIAC Men’s Golf Championships and the Griffins are in fourth place with a 45-over par 621 (312-309).
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Two rounds of golf are in the books at the SLIAC Men's Golf Championships and the Griffins are in fourth place with a 45-over par 621 (312-309).
Webster University leads the field at 31-over par 607 (305-302). Illinois College holds down second at 40-over par 616 (312-304), while Knox College sits in third at 43-over par 619 (306-313).
Individually, Will Hocker (Webster) is the lone player under-par shooting a 3-under 141 (72-69). Carson King improved his first round score by eight strokes moving up 12 spots to eighth place with an 8-over par 152 (80-72).
After totaling three birdies on the back nine in the first round, King found much more success on the front nine in his second time around totaling three birdies. He added two more birdies on the back nine for eight on the afternoon.
Lake Deppe is tied for ninth at 10-over par 154 (75-79). Lake Deppe had four birdies in the first round standing at 3-over par. In the second round, Deppe highlight came on the par five 492-yard hole where he scored an eagle.
Cody McKinney is the third Griffin inside the top-15 hitting a 13-over par 157 (80-77) for 15th place. McKinney had a birdies on the front nine finishing at 8-over par. In round two, McKinney limited himself to just two bogeys on the back nine.
Paul Henderson is tied for 30th at 19-over par 163 (77-86) where he had a strong first round totaling three birdies, including two on consecutive holes at two and three.
Cole Deppe moved up two spots finishing in 34th at 21-over par 165 (84-81). Cole Deppe had a birdie in round one and added two more in round two.

The Griffins look to make one final push up the leaderboard in the final round tomorrow of the SLIAC Championships.
