Men's Lacrosse picked 6th in MLC Pre-Season Coaches' Poll
St. Louis- Fontbonne University men's lacrosse was voted to finish 6th in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference for the 2013 season according to the Pre-season Coaches' Poll.
The Griffins finished the 2012 season with an 8-8 record under interim head coach Colin Smith. Smith led Fontbonne tying the best record in school history and the most wins in a single season since the 2009 season.
Fontbonne lacrosse began in the spring of 2007. The Griffins finished 4-5 in MLC play.
Coach Smith is excited about the upcoming season, "We had a great fall and winter of preparation, and the team is looking forward to kicking of the season down in Tennessee against Sewanee on February 16th.”
Aurora was the favorite, collecting 9 first-place vote. Last year the Spartans finished 2nd in conference play.
In addition to Aurora, tournament participants last year were Concordia, Mt. St. Joseph and Adrian.
Adrian, who finished 1st last year, is now a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Concordia has been picked to finished 2nd, Carthage suggested to finish 3rd and Mt. St. Joseph rounds out the #4 slot.
New to the MLC this year are Benedictine, Elmhurst, and Defiance.
