Men's Lacrosse Picked To Finish 12th In MLC Preseason Poll
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) released the 2020 Preseason Poll and the Griffins come in at No. 12.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) released the 2020 Preseason Poll and the Griffins come in at No. 12.
Aurora, the runner-up in the MLC Tournament, holds the top spot with 138 points and seven first-place votes. The reigning MLC Champion, Concordia Wisconsin, comes in at No. 2 with 131 points and four first-place votes.
Benedictine University slides in at NO. 3 with 128 points and two first-place votes, while MSOE and Marian round out the top-five.
This year, the Griffins will be looking to replace top leading goal scorer, Michael Picciolo, along with faceoff specialist, Brian Nguyen.
The team does bring back Alex Scott as he ended 2019 with 20 goals, while setting career-highs in both assists (14) and points (34). Connor Mallett also returns after having a career-year with 17 goals and nine assists for 26 points.
Senior Matt Rech is back for his final season as he set new career-highs as well from a season ago with 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points. In net, Dalton Teague had his first full season in net where he came away with 225 saves which is second-best all-time at Fontbonne in a single season.

The Griffins get the 2020 slate underway on February 29th at home when they'll take on North Central (Minn.). Game time at 12 p.m.
