The Fontbonne University men's soccer team exploded for nine first half goals en route to a 9-1 victory over Eureka College yesterday. The Griffins improved to 9-2-2 overall and 3-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
The Griffins scored six goals in the games opening 20 minutes to cruise to the victory. Fontbonne junior Zach Schucardt and freshman Jamie McInnes scored two goals apiece in the victory. Griffin freshman Joe Mirth started his first game of the season in goal for Fontbonne recording two saves to earn his first victory of the season.
Fontbonne will return to action Tuesday night when they host SLIAC foe Greenville College at 8:00 pm.
