Griffins earn #2 seed in SLIAC Tournament

The Fontbonne University men's soccer team will be the #2 seed in the upcoming St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament.

The Griffins finished in a three-way tie for the SLIAC regular season championship with a 8-1 SLIAC record. Fontbonne (13-6-1 overall) finished tied with Webster University and Westminster College. Fontbonne now has six SLIAC regular season soccer championships, the most among all SLIAC schools.

Due to tiebreaker scenario's, Fontbonne earned the #2 seed and will host #3 seed Webster University Wednesday at 1 pm. The other semifinal will feature #1 seed Westminster College and #4 seed Greenville College. The championship game is scheduled for Friday at a time and location to be determined. The winner of the SLIAC Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Div. III National Soccer Tournament.

This marks the 11th straight year Fontbonne has qualified for the SLIAC Tournament, the longest active streak among SLIAC schools.
