Jacksonville, Ill. - Fontbonne freshman Greg Ferry notched the team's first goal of the season. The Scotland native scored on a cross from senior Austin Willenbrock to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead over Illinois College in the 73rd minute. The Blueboys would score with 12 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Both teams are still searching for their first victory.
Not only was it a long game due to two overtime periods, but there was also a weather delay before the first overtime could begin. The game eventually finished in a tie after three hours and 15 minutes.
The Griffins are at home this Saturday, September 10th with a night game against Millikin. The two teams will face off around 8 p.m. after the women's game against Aurora.
