Men's Soccer Releases Its 2018 Schedule
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s soccer team has released its 2018 schedule as they’ll look to build off its 2017 success.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team has released its 2018 schedule as they'll look to build off its 2017 success.
The Griffins, who are coming off a 13-win season and its first SLIAC Regular Season Championship since 2013, will play two exhibition games against Garden City Community College and Maryville in August before getting its 2018 campaign underway on the road against Aurora on August 31st.
Aurora finished sixth in the Central Region Rankings last year after going 12-7. Two days later, the Griffins stay on the road and square off against Dominican. The Stars defeated the Griffins 4-1 in 2017 and went on to conclude with a 14-4 overall record.
The team continues its road stretch on September 8th and 9th against Franklin and Wabash. From there, the Griffins will have its home opener against Knox on September 13th under the lights at 7 p.m.
After stints against Illinois College (Sept. 16th) and WashU (Sept. 18th), the Griffins host Wisconsin-Whitewater and Rose-Hulman on the 23rd and 25th to close out non-conference play.
Before the turn into October, the Griffins finish out September with its first conference game on the road against Eureka on the 29th.
In October, the team will play five games at home against Principia (Oct. 2nd), Greenville (Oct. 6th), Westminster (Oct. 17th), Iowa Wesleyan (Oct. 20th), and MacMurray (Oct. 23rd). They'll close out the regular season against rival Webster on the 27th.
