Men's Soccer Falls At Westminster

FULTON, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 road contest against Westminster on Saturday.

How It Happened

The Griffins had an early chance for goal in the fourth minute as Drew Moser's shot was saved by Connor Bandre'. Then, in the 30^th minute, a foul was called on the Griffins in the box and a penalty-kick was awarded to Westminster. Justin Gerdiman came through with the goal to give them the 1-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Bryan Carroll had an attempt just a minute and 15 seconds in, though his shot went high. In the 49^th minute, Gerdiman struck again, scoring an unassisted goal to push the advantage out to 2-0.

In the 67^th minute, the Griffins had a chance to cut the deficit down to one as a foul was called inside the box to give Fontbonne a penalty kick. Jarid Morton's attempt, however, went wide to keep it a two-goal deficit. Westminster kept the shutout intact the rest of the way as they went on for the win.

• The Griffins ended with four shots.
• Moser, Carroll, Morton, and Charles Gibbs had one each.
• In net, Ethan Cowell made seven saves.

Westminster Leaders

• The Blue Jays concluded with 20 shots.
• Gerdiman led the field with five shots and four landing on net.
• In goal, Bandre' made one save.
