Fontbonne Men's Soccer Releases 2021 Schedule
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s soccer team released its 2021 slate as the Griffins look to climb up the SLIAC standings this year.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team released its 2021 slate as the Griffins look to climb up the SLIAC standings this year.
Last year, the Griffins went 6-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play. The team finished with 17 goals led by Trent Calvert with four. Brandon Baumgartner was named to the SLIAC All-Conference Second Team, while Joe Noah, Dyllan Haggard, and Ethan Cowell earned were named to the Third Team.
This season, the Griffins bring back Calvert, Noah, and Kaleb Wilson who combined for eight goals. Jarid Morton, Tanner Harris, Haggard, Zack Lyeki, Jared Lyeki, Anthony LaRocca, and Andrew Kneale all return after scoring one goal each.
In net, the Griffins look to replace starter Ethan Cowell who finished with a 1.46 goals against average. Blake Hinerman returns for his sophomore season after appearing in four games and making 12 saves.
The team welcomes in TJ Balducci, Dominic Haggard, Luca Roma, Ian Steinkamp, and Blake King to the roster.
Schedule Notes
- Alumni game will take place on August 21st at 6 p.m.
- The team plays two exhibitions against St. Charles Community College (Aug. 26) and Southwest Baptist (Aug. 28th).
- The Griffins will play four non-conference games against Whitworth (Sept 4th), Whitman (Sept. 5th), Cornell College (Sept 10th) and have its home opener on Sept. 12th against Wabash.
- Its first conference game will be on the road at Principia on Sept. 14th
- The team has eight home games.
- Senior Day will take place on Oct. 23rd against Blackburn.
