Men's Soccer Collects Third Straight Draw Against Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team recorded its third straight draw with a 1-1 tie against Illinois College.
The Blueboys came out with three shots in the first six minutes of regulation, but Dominic Haggard came away with all three stops. IC held a 4-2 shot advantage in the first half and it remained a scoreless game.
In the second half, the offense picked up for both teams. In the 66th minute, the Blueboys struck first getting a goal from Tyler Lunning.
Fontbonne responded recording the next three shots and finally broke through in the 75th minute. Off a long throw-in from Ian Steinkamp into the box, Ryan Schwentker was there to head in his first collegiate goal.
The Griffins kept the offensive pressure going from there with a 4-1 shot advantage, however, they were unable to break the tie.
