FULTON, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team got a late goal from Anthony Dalton to secure a 2-1 win over Westminster.
In the first half, the Blue Jays jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute when Geoffrey Schultz headed in the corner kick from Francois Moua.
In the 42nd minute, though the Griffins tied it at 1-1 when Caleb Kollmeyer found the loose ball in the box and scored his first career goal.
In the second half, the two teams continued to try and find ways to break the tie. Fontbonne finally did in the 83rd minute when Anthony Dalton got the ball near the top of the box and scored to the far post for the game winning goal.
Notes
- Fontbonne finished with a 10-8 shot advantage.
- Dominic Haggard made three saves in net.
- Dalton's goal was his second on the season.
