ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Principia on Thursday.
The Griffins came out aggressive early with Eldar Kladnjakovic having two great scoring chances in the fifth minute, but his initial shot and follow up header were stopped by Torben Rehnert.
It remained a scoreless game until the 41st minute when Brandon O'Dell passed the ball up for Anthony Dalton who noticed Rehnert was out from his net. He took advantage lifting his shot up-and-over Rehnert into the empty net for the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Panthers tied the game up at 1-1 on a goal from Christian Tresoldi in the 65th minute.
Fontbonne tried to add the game-winner late with just under a minute left, but O'Dell's shot from outside the box went over the crossbar and out of play.
