Men’s Soccer Ranked Fourth at SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University men's soccer team were ranked fourth in the SLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced the conference office Thursday.

The team received 49 points for the four-place ranking.

The Griffins are looking to improve this season.

"We finished fourth last season and we obviously want to improve upon that. Until we do, then we are probably right where we deserve to be," shared Head Coach Donnie Alberty.

The team returns 24 players, including 10 starters and welcome four newcomers.

The men's soccer team will kick off regular season at home verses Maryville (Tenn.) on Saturday, Sept. 2. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Dominic Haggard, Brandon O'Dell, Max Sarich, Ryan Schwentker, Ian Steinkamp, and Carter Youmans were honored in the 2023 SLIAC Men's Soccer Preseason Watch List.
