ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University men's soccer team opened conference play with a 2-1 win over Greenville University this Saturday afternoon. The Griffins improve to 2-4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
With less than 10 minutes after the game has started, the Griffins were able to find the back of the net with a pass from Julian Tilford to Tim Jurado.
Nine minutes later, Joe Noah extended the lead of the game assisted by Brandon O'Dell.
Greenville attempted a comeback in the second period after scoring one goal, but they were unable to score again.
Dominic Haggard played 90 minutes in between posts. He stopped 12 shots, with eight coming from the second half.
Fontbonne was outshot by Greenville, 23-14.
