BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Fontbonne University men's soccer shutout Lyon College 1-0 this afternoon, winning their four consecutive game in a row. The Griffins improve to 5-4-2 on the season and 3-0 in SLIAC play.
"At some point, I just have to tip my cap to these players," commented Head Coach Donnie Alberty. "This season has put them in some tough situations and they have continually answered the bell."
"Today, Dom, Max, Ryan, Alex, Nick, Timmy, and Ian all played fabulous defensively against a very well coached and technical team. Then, Brandon stepped up and made a play when we needed him to. We have battled hard these last 3 matches and put ourselves in a pretty good position. It will be a fun bus ride home."
Brandon O'Dell scored the only goal of the day in the 78th minute to give the Griffins the win.
Dominic Haggard played 90 minutes in between posts and recorded six saves.
Lyon outshot Fontbonne, 12-6.
