EUREKA, Ill. – The Fontbonne University men's soccer team took down Eureka College this evening, 3-1. The Griffins improve to 7-4-2 on the season and 5-0.
"First of all, I think you have to give Coach Woodside a lot of credit," shared Head Coach Donnie Alberty. "He has turned that Eureka program around and this is a tough place to come and play. I am pretty proud of the guys right now. They had a very professional approach tonight."
"I think we had some good performances by quite a few guys, but I think you point out Nick Mormino for getting up in the attack and Anthony Dalton played very well off the bench."
The Griffins got on board first with a goal from Tim Jurado in the ninth minute.
Nick Mormino found Brandon O'Dell to extend the Griffins' lead to 2-0.
Eureka scored their only goal of the game in the 81st minute, then Fontbonne responded with another goal from O'Dell for the 3-1 win.
"Brandon O'Dell proved that his player of the week award was no fluke. His first goal was a great team goal, but his second goal was a next level individual effort. We are playing well now and should be ready to go for this next one on Saturday," said Alberty.
Dominic Haggard played 90 minutes in between posts. He stopped four shots with three coming from the first half.
Eureka outshot Fontbonne, 18-10.
