MCVL Announces 2015 Coaches Preseason Poll
St. Louis, Mo. - This year the Fontbonne University men's volleyball team is a member of the newly formed Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL). The conference is made up of Benedictine University (Ill.), Carthage College, Dominican University (Ill.), Fontbonne University, Lakeland College, Loras College, Mount St. Joseph University and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Carthage, Fontbonne, MSJ and MSOE were each charter members of the Continental Volleyball Conference, with the first season of competition in 2012. Dominican and Lakeland later joined the conference. These six teams split from the CVC with Benedictine and Loras joining as teams seven and eight. By 2016 the conference will have ten members as Greenville College and North Central College have announced adding men's volleyball as a NCAA Division III sport.
The MCVL has announced its first Coaches Preseason Poll. The Griffins have been chosen to finish seventh in conference play. Third year head coach Mike Haston returns seven players and adds five new faces to the roster. The Griffins look to improve on a record-tieing 8-win (8-13) season last year.
