Men's Volleyball broke several records this season
St. Louis, Mo. - It's been a year of ups and downs for Fontbonne men's volleyball as the Griffins went 5-22 on the season, but have notched themselves in the Fontbonne record books multiple times along the way.
To start, senior Aaron Graue became the first player to amass 1000 career kills as the outside hitter from Oakville, Mo. totaled 1012 in his career, setting the new mark for future Griffins to beat.
Then there is Peter Hibbeler. The junior (graduating early) became a major threat at the net, shattering Fontbonne's solo blocks and total blocks records, both season and career records. The two-year Griffin has 183 career blocks, 38 solo blocks this season and 77 block assists for his final year. All three are top performances for our men's volleyball team since its 2007 inception. As of his final game, Hibbeler was third among NCAA Division III players averaging 1.28 blocks per set.
Freshman Stephen Lendy's hard serve earned him 22 service aces on the season. That is good enough to tie the Chicago, Ill. native for first in single-season aces.
As a team, the Griffins broke several season records. The 2015 team is first in aces (83), solo blocks (80) and total blocks (196).
Please join the athletic department in congratulating any members of the team or coaching staff you see around campus on their accomplishments this season. The entire Fontbonne men's volleyball record book can be found here.
