St. Louis, Mo. - After a close first set, Dominican hit .565 and .435 in the second and third sets respectively to overtake the Fontbonne men's volleyball 25-19, 25-14 and 25-12. The two teams took to the court in an early matchup at 9 a.m. The Stars dominated the hitting category in the game, hitting .408 overall. They are now 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the MCVL. Fontbonne falls to 8-3 on the year and 4-3 in conference.
TJ Vorva's eight kills and .412 hitting percentage were team-highs for Fontbonne. He committed just one error on 17 attempts. At the net, Brendon Schwartze tallied three solo blocks against Dominican's right-side hitters while Jacob Lendy's first solo block of the year was against an outside hitter. Emir Hadzisalihovic also notched a lone block in the middle.
The Griffins are on the road for six games, only returning to St. Louis to host MSOE on March 10th.
