Hadzisalihovic, Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell, And Rothstein Honored By MCVL
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The MCVL released the 2019 All-Conference Teams and the Griffins came away with Emir Hadzisalihovic and Kyler van Rossum-O’Connell being named to the First Team, while Zach Rothstein collected Second Team honors.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The MCVL released the 2019 All-Conference Teams and the Griffins came away with Emir Hadzisalihovic and Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell being named to the First Team, while Zach Rothstein collected Second Team honors.
Hadzisalihovic, a St. Louis, Mo., native, earns the honor for the first time in his career. The senior set new career-high marks in kills (174), kills per set (2.20), and hitting percentage (.492) thus far in 2019. He set the single-season record mark in hitting percentage and ranks third in block assists. His .492 hitting percentage also ranks him No. 1 overall in NCAA Division III.
Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell had himself a season for the Griffins and earns the All-Conference honor also for the first time in his career.
The junior set a new career-high with 847 assists which is a single-season record at Fontbonne. He also became the first player in program history to reach 2,000 assists. The Joliet, Ill, native, ranks in the top-five in NCAA Division III with 10.72 assists per set.
Rothstein, an Evergreen Park, Ill., native, picks up All-Conference honors for the second straight season. The junior libero posted 243 digs on the season so far and ranks in the top-10 in Division III with 3.12 digs per set.
