How It Happened
In the first set, the Thunder opened with a 12-6 lead on a block assist from Chris Dargan and Parker Beale and that forced the Griffins to take a timeout. Later, the Thunder stretched it out to 18-11 and the Griffins called a timeout.
Out of the break, the Griffins started its comeback. The team went on a 12-6 run as an attack error by the Thunder had Fontbonne down 24-23. After a kill from Kyle Dixon, the Griffins closed out on a 4-0 run for the 27-25 win.
In the second set, the Griffins opened with a 12-8 lead on Nate Paasch's kill. Fontbonne expanded the advantage out to 22-15 on Braden Woolsey's service ace. Trine never was able to mount a comeback with Cameron Graves finishing the set off with a kill for the 25-19 win.
Fontbonne totaled 12 kills and a .233 hitting percentage, while Trine had its struggles with six kills and seven attack errors for a negative -.038 hitting percentage.
In the third, the Griffins grabbed a 15-10 lead on a Thunder attack error. It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way as they closed out on a 10-4 run for the 25-14 set and match win.

- Fontbonne posted 38 kills and a .256 hitting percentage in the sweep.
- Defensively, they posted 34 digs and four blocks.
- Trine ended with 28 kills and a .120 hitting percentage.
- The Thunder struggled at the service line with 12 service errors and zero aces.
