Set Breakdown
Set 1: It was a slow opening for the Griffins who were playing without starters Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell, Ryan Lively, and Nate Paasch to start as the Vikings took an 8-0 lead.
The Vikings cruised on from there to go on for the 25-13 win. The Vikings totaled 11 kills and two errors for a .429 hitting percentage, while it was the first negative hitting performance for Fontbonne totaling four kills and eight errors.
Set 2: The Griffins started out better in set two with Joseph Huster earning a kill to give Fontbonne a 7-5 lead. However, the Vikings went on a 12-5 run with a Gary Dodovich kill giving them the 17-12 advantage.
The Griffins tried to stay within striking distance as a solo block from Braden Woolsey trimmed the deficit down to 20-17 but the Vikings fended off Fontbonne for the 25-19 win.
Set 3: In the third, the Vikings once again started fast taking 12-3 lead on Luis Zavala's kill. Augustana was able to go on from there for the 25-18 set and match win.
