(RV) Men's Volleyball Sweeps Past Marian; Drops Finale Against (RV) Loras
DUBUQUE, Iowa.—The (RV) Fontbonne University men’s volleyball team earned its fifth straight sweep to start the day against Marian. In game two, though the Griffins fell in straight sets against host (RV) Loras.

DUBUQUE, Iowa.—The (RV) Fontbonne University men's volleyball team earned its fifth straight sweep to start the day against Marian. In game two, though the Griffins fell in straight sets against host (RV) Loras.
Match One
Final: (RV) Fontbonne 3, Marian 0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-21)

Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins took control from the start leading 16-6 on Braden Woolsey's kill. Fontbonne posted 14 kills and a .323 hitting percentage in the first allowing them to cruise to the 25-11 win.
Woolsey was rolling with four kills on four swings. Ryan Lively added three kills, while Nate Paasch, Joseph Huster, and Cameron Graves contributed two kills each. Marian, meanwhile, struggled offensively with seven kills and 10 errors for a negative -.081 hitting percentage.
Set 2: The Sabres this time around owned a 13-9 lead on consecutive Fontbonne attack errors. Fontbonne responded with a 9-0 run capped off by Paasch's service ace which forced Marian to take a timeout. Out of the break, the Griffins remained in control holding onto its lead going on for the 25-20 win.
The Griffins posted a match-high 15 kills and .333 hitting percentage. Woolsey had another strong set with five kills on six swings for a .667 hitting percentage.
Set 3: The Griffins put the Sabres in a major 12-4 hole early on an attack error. Fontbonne stretched its lead out to 16-8 on Paasch's kill and despite a late rally from Marian the Griffins were able to hang on for the 25-21 set and match win.

Set Notes
Set 1: It was back-and-forth action early but a Loras attack error gave Fontbonne a 12-11 lead. The Duhawks gained some breathing room from there going on a 6-1 run with Tucker Ziegenhorn's kill giving them a 17-13 advantage.
Loras held on to its marginal lead the rest of the way going for the 25-18 victory. Fontbonne finished with eight kills on 23 swings for a .087 hitting percentage in the first. Loras totaled 11 kills on 19 swings for a .368 hitting percentage.
Set 2: It was another battle to start out the second, but Loras went on a 4-1 run after it being tied 14-14 to take a 18-15 lead on Patrick Mahoney's kill. The Griffins got the deficit to 23-20 on Huster's kill, however, the Duhawks collected the final two points on kills from Dorian Fiorenza and Tyler Kratochvil for the 25-21 victory.
Fontbonne fared better offensively in the second with 11 kills and a .381 hitting percentage. Wooley led with four kills.
Set 3: The Duhawks grabbed a 10-7 advantage on Kratochvil's kill. Fontbonne trimmed the Duhawks lead to 11-10 on Woolsey's service ace.
Loras went on to expand its lead out to 21-14 and never looked back going on for the 25-16 set and match win.
