Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins started out well taking a 11-7 lead on Ryan Lively's kill. The team remained in control throughout winning the opener, 25-19.
Fontbonne had quite the first set with 16 kills and a .344 hitting percentage. Joseph Huster led with four kills on five swings, while Lively, Nate Paasch, and Cameron Graves had three kills each.
Set 2: It was back-and-forth play throughout the second, but the Griffins led 19-18 on Paasch's kill. Later, the Duhawks went on to take a 23-22 lead and fended off Fontbonne for the 25-22 win on dorian Fiorenza's kill.
Fontbonne ended with 13 kills and a .357 hitting percentage in the second, while the Duhawks bounced back with 14 kills and .303 hitting percentage.
Set 3: The Duhawks led 18-14 in the third on Fiorenza's kill. The Griffins battled back and tied it up at 18-18 on a double block from Braden Woolsey and Paasch. However, the Duhawks finished the set out on a 7-3 run for the 25-21 win.
Fontbonne had 10 kills and a .280 hitting percentage in the third and six block assists. Loras, meanwhile, played its best set with 19 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.
Set 4: The Duhawks put Fontbonne in a 16-9 hole in the fourth and never looked back going on for the 25-18 set and match win.
