Fontbonne Men's Volleyball Wins Second Straight MCVL Regular Season Title

ADRIAN, Mich.—The Fontbonne University men's volleyball team secured its second straight MCVL Regular Season Title after a sweep over Adrian.

Set Notes

Set 1: The Griffins grabbed a 15-11 lead on Ryan Lively's kill. The Bulldogs narrowed the deficit to 16-15, but Fontbonne closed out the set on a 9-4 run on Braden Woolsey's service ace for the 25-19 victory.

Fontbonne had 11 kills and just two errors on 23 swings for a .391 hitting percentage. Ryan Lively and Braden Woolsey led with four kills each.

Set 2: The Bulldogs this time around grabbed a 14-11 lead on Branden Gula's service ace which forced Fontbonne to take a timeout. Out of the break, the Griffins eventually took a 20-19 lead on Kolin Scharnhorst's kill.

The Griffins went on a 5-1 run the rest of the way with Lively's kill securing the 25-20 victory. Fontbonne had a match-high 15 kills in the set led by Lively, Nate Paasch, Scharnhorst, and Woolsey having three each.

Set 3: In the third set, the Griffins took a 15-9 lead on Joseph Huster's kill. Adrian battled back and the two teams went point-for-point up until Fontbonne closed out the set and the match for the 25-23 win.
