Stika Named Co-Coach Of The Year; Taylor Earns Rookie Of The Year
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The MCVL released its end of the year awards today and head coach Jimmy Stika was named Co-Coach of the Year, while Ryan Taylor earned Rookie of the Year.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The MCVL released its end of the year awards today and head coach Jimmy Stika was named Co-Coach of the Year, while Ryan Taylor earned Rookie of the Year.
Stika wins his first Coach of the Year award and becomes the second men's volleyball coach in program history to earn the honor joining Ryan LeGrand (2019). He guided Fontbonne to its second straight MCVL Regular Season Title this year going 20-7 and a perfect 8-0 in conference play.
In his two seasons at the helm thus far, Stika is 39-10 overall and a dominating 23-1 in conference action.
Taylor, an Aurora, Colo., native, appeared in 24 matches on the season totaling 166 digs which was second-best on the team. He had a season-high 15 digs against Mount Union on March 25th. He's the first Griffin in program history to win Rookie of the Year.
