Set Notes
Set 1: The Scarlet Hawks put Fontbonne in an 8-1 hole, but the Griffins started to chip away at the deficit trailing 13-9 on Ryan Lively's kill.
IIT, though remained in control the rest of the set going on for the 25-16 victory. Fontbonne had 11 kills and a .118 hitting percentage in the first. IIT opened with 12 kills on 26 swings for a .385 hitting percentage.
Set 2: After the two teams were tied 9-9, the Scarlet Hawks went on an 8-0 run taking a commanding 17-9 lead and went on for the 25-16 win.
The Griffins struggled offensively with six kills and five errors for a. 038 hitting percentage. IIT, meanwhile, played its best set of the morning with 13 kills and a .385 hitting percentage.
Set 3: The Griffins bounced back in a big way in the third taking a 9-3 lead on Lively's kill. The Scarlet Hawks got the lead down to 15-12, however, the Griffins closed out the set outscoring IIT 10-3 en route to the 25-15 victory.
Fontbonne had its best set offensively with 12 kills and a match-high .440 hitting percentage. Lively led with five kills, while Joseph Huster had two kills and three solo blocks. Josh Blomberg and Cameron Graves also contributed two kills each.
Set 4: In the fourth, the Scarlet Hawks took a 10-6 led on Grant Couper's kill. It was all IIT the rest of the way finishing off the set and the match for the 25-15 win.
