Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins held its lead throughout the first with Josh Blomberg's kill giving them a 16-11 advantage.
UHSP went a 4-0 run trailing 22-20, but the Griffins finished off the set on a kill from Tony Brooks for the 25-21 win.
Set 2: It was the Eutectics this time around putting Fontbonne in an 18-10 hole after a kill from Christopher Moore. The Eutectics remained in control the rest of the way going on for the 25-17 win.
Set 3: Fontbonne were holding onto a 17-16 lead on Blomberg's kill. However, the Eutectics went on a 4-0 run leading 20-17.
The two teams met-up at 23-23, but a setting error and a double block from Blomberg and Nathan Rothweiler gave Fontbonne the 25-23 victory.
Set 4: The two teams went point-for-point throughout the fourth, but a kill from Lee Kreutzman evened the score up at 24-24. The Eutectics, though went on to collect the next two points forcing a fifth and final set.
Set 5: In the fifth, the Eutectics led 10-6 on a Fontbonne attack error. The Griffins never gave up going on a 4-0 run of its own to tie the game.
Later, the Griffins tied it once more on Lively's kill. They finished out the set and the match on a kill from Blomberg and a service ace from Lively for the 19-17 win.
