Men's Volleyball Sweeps Season Series Eutectics

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s volleyball team swept the season series over UHSP on Wednesday knocking off the Eutectics in straight sets.

Fontbonne def. UHSP, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-23)

Set Notes

Set 1: It was back-and-forth in the first set, but the Eutectics led 20-17. However, the Griffins finished out outscoring UHSP 8-1 en route to the 25-21 win on Ryan Lively’s kill.

Fontbonne had 17 kills in the first led by Lee Kreutzman with six kills and a .714 hitting percentage.

Set 2: In the second, the Eutectics led 12-9 on a kill from Christopher Moore. Fontbonne battled back taking a 17-16 led on a Cameron Graves kill. They never relinquished its lead from there going on for the 25-18 win.

Fontbonne had 10 kills in the second, to go along with its .292 hitting percentage. Lively and Kreutzman contributed three kills each.

Set 3: It was the Griffins this time around taking a 12-8 lead on a Eutectics service error. UHSP eventually grabbed a 20-19 advantage after Connor Behymer’s kill.

However, the Griffins regained a 21-20 lead and never looked back hanging on for the 25-23 set and match win.

• Fontbonne finished with 42 kills and a .250 hitting percentage.
• UHSP ended with 30 kills and a .182 hitting percentage.
• Fontbonne had eight service aces compared to zero for UHSP
