Men's Volleyball Falls Against Trine

ANGOLA, Ind.—The Fontbonne University men's volleyball team fell in four sets against Trine on Saturday. Trine improved to 13-9 overall and 4-0 in the MCVL. Fontbonne falls to 12-9 overall and 2-2 in the MCVL.

Set Notes

Set 1: In the first set, the Thunder put the Griffins in a 12-6 hole. Trine held its lead the rest of the way going on for the 25-17 win.

Set 2: The Griffins this time around grabbed a 14-3 lead and cruised to the 25-14 win. After having a .034 hitting percentage in the first, the Griffins bounced back with a .333 hitting percentage in the second. Nate Paasch led with five kills.

Set 3: The Thunder held a marginal 15-11 advantage in the third forcing Fontbonne to take a timeout. Out of the break, the Griffins tried to mount a comeback, but the Thunder ended the set on a solo block from Matt Stillman for the 25-21 win.

Set 4: The Thunder were clinging to a 16-14 lead after a double block from Logan Irby and Cameron Graves. TFrom there, the Thunder outscored Fontbonne 9-4 en route to the set and match win.

• Fontbonne finished with 44 kills and a .128 hitting percentage.
• The Thunder totaled 49 kills and a .143 hitting percentage.
• Fontbonne finished with 10 blocks, while the Thunder had eight.
