ST. LOUIS, Mo.—After picking up two wins to close out its trip to Florida, the Fontbonne University softball team looks for continued success when they’ll take on (RV) WashU on Friday. First-pitch at 12 p.m. On Sunday, the Griffins host Simpson at 12 & 2 p.m.

A Look At The Griffins

  • Fontbonne is coming off a doubleheader win over Northwestern (Minn.) (2-1) and Houghton (6-3).
  • On the year, the Griffins are batting .296, to go along with its 26 doubles.
  • Lexi Becker leads with a team-high .423 clip, while Hannah Miener has brought the power as she's reached safely in her last seven to own a .409 average, totaling two homers and a team-high 17 RBI.
  • Grace Harlin is batting .385, while Lauren Proehl (.333), and Lilly Jones (.302) are both hitting over the .300 mark.
  • Inside the circle, the staff has a 4.23 ERA in 81.0 innings pitched.
  • Abby Richmond lead with a 2-2 record and a 2.63 ERA. Michaela Mason is second on the team with her 2.83 ERA in 17.1 innings of work.
  • Becker and Miener are both tie with nine strikeouts.

 

A Look At The (RV) WashU Bears

  • The Bears sit just outside the NFCA Top 25 Poll as they come in 27th after picking up two big wins in the NFCA Leadoff Classic over then No. 8 DePauw (12-1; 5 inn) and No. 19 Mary Hardin-Baylor (17-13), who jumped up to No. 11 in the latest poll.
  • On the season, the Bears are batting .318 and are led by Tami Wong's .500 clip. She's also lead with a .571 on-base percentage.
  • Nicole Hay owns a .44 average, belted two homers, and is tied with Kayla Nommensen with nine RBI.
  • Nommensen leads with three homers and is batting .348 through seven games thus far.
  • On the rubber, the Bars have a 4.68 ERA and are holding opponents to a .258 clip.
  • Holly Stoner is off to a 3-0 start with a 2.76 ERA. Madison Denton (5.65 ERA), ranks first on the team with 14 strikeouts.

 

A Look At The Simpson College Storm

  • The Storm will be hitting the diamond for the first time this weekend when they'll take on Illinois College on Saturday followed by Fontbonne on Sunday.
  • The Storm finished 2019 with a 21-19 overall record.
  • The team batted .268 overall and will welcome back Megan Crockett who batted .369, totaling a team-high nine homers, and 31 RBI.
  • The staff ended with a 3.50 ERA and are led by Emily Bell who went 11-6 in 114.0 innings pitched and struck out a team-high 78 batters.
