ST. LOUIS, Mo.—We take a look back at the Fontbonne University softball season before it was cut short due to COVID-19.
Highlights
- The Griffins ended the season with a 5-7 overall record.
- The team finished out the year prior to the cancellation with a 2-1 win over Northwestern (Minn.) and a 6-3 victory over Houghton.
- The team posted 12 runs twice in a single game winning its opener 12-10 over Defiance and a 12-4 win over Regis (Mass.).
Stats
- The Griffins finished with a .296 average through 12 games.
- Lexi Becker owned the top average batting .423, totaling 11 hits and six RBI.
- Newcomer Hannah Miener was well on her way to a standout season with a .409 clip, while leading the team in hits (18), doubles (seven), home runs (two), RBI (17), stolen bases (four), and slugging percentage (.705).
- Grace Harlin batted .385, led with 11 runs scored, and a .478 on-base percentage. She finished second on the team with 15 hits, four doubles, and three stolen bases.
- Lauren Proehl hit .333, while Lilly Jones owned a .302 average and was second behind Harlin with 10 runs scored.
- The pitching staff owned a 4.23 ERA in 81.0 innings of work.
- Abby Richmond led going 2-2 with a 2.63 ERA.
- Michaela Mason went 1-1 in 17.1 innings pitched and had an ERA of 2.83.
- Lexi Becker led with nine strikeouts and Skylar Freeman also picked up a win on the season.
Rankings
- Miener ranked 28th nationally with her 17 RBI.
Senior Class Career Stats
- Alyssa Pisarek was the lone senior on the Griffins.
- She totaled 13 hits, 16 runs scored, and one RBI in her career with Fontbonne.
