How It Happened
Fontbonne got on the board in the top of the first when Grace Paez brought home both Lexi Becker and Grace Harlin with a two out single to center.
Transylvania got a run back in the second but Fontbonne pushed the advantage back out to two in the third when Grace Harlin's sacrifice fly scored Becker who led off with a double.
With a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh, the Griffins added what they thought was more breathing room. Pinch-hitter Sara Joines got the two out rally started with a single and moved up a base on Becker's walk.
Lilly Jones dug in and doubled to center clearing the bases and giving Fontbonne a 5-2 lead. However, the Pioneers played spoiler tacking on three runs on three hits to tie the game and force extra innings.
In the eighth, Paez struck again with a single to left that scored Harlin to give Fontbonne the lead back, 6-5. In the bottom half of the inning, though the Pioneers tied the game and eventually worked the bases loaded. Becca Messing walked it off with a single to right for the one-run win.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Paez led going 2-for-3 with a season-high three RBI.
- Gracie Morris contributed two hits.
- Becker at the leadoff spot went 2-for-3 with a double and scoring a season-high three runs.
- Jones added a hit and season-high two RBI.
- Inside the circle, Becker took the tough no-decision allowing three runs in 6.0 innings of work.

How It Happened
It was a scoreless outing up until the top of the fifth when the Prairie Wolves broke through on Hannah Roth's RBI single that brought home Taylor Styskal.
Nebraska Wesleyan added two more in the to lead by three. In the bottom of the seventh, the Griffins broke the no-hitter up with Lilly Jones hitting an infield single.
After a sacrifice-bunt, Paez ripped a double to left plating Jones to cut the deficit down, 3-1. Two batters later, the line kept moving with Gracie Morris bringing home Paez with an RBI single. However, starter Kailey Meyer was able to get out of the inning and hang on for the 3-2 victory.

- Paez, Jones, and Morris had a hit each with Paez and Morris tallying an RBI.
- Abby Richmond suffered the loss allowing one run on just two hits in 5.0 innings pitched and striking out one.
