How It Happened
The game couldn't have started out any better for Fontbonne with the team plating six runs on five hits in the first. With two on and one out, the Griffins grabbed a 1-0 lead on Gracie Morris' RBI single which brought home Lexi Becker who led off with a single.
Abby Richmond followed and cleared the bases with a double scoring both Morris and Lilly Jones. After a Panthers error plated another run for Fontbonne, the team extended it out to 4-0 on Hannah Miener's RBI single.
Patience Vandermierden made it a 5-0 outing with a sacrifice-fly that scored Logan Darrow. Lexi Becker finished the inning off with a bases loaded walk RBI to give them a commanding lead.
The Panthers cut into the deficit in the fifth when Desirae Yost hit a 3-run shot. However, the Griffins answered right back scoring five runs on six hits.
The power was displayed in the sixth with Richmond, Skylar Freeman, and Becker each recording a double and an RBI. Miener belted her first homer on the season, a 2-run shot, to give the Griffins an 11-3 lead.
The Panthers tried to make it interesting scoring five unanswered runs but Fontbonne was able to hang on for the three-run victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Becker went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI at the leadoff spot.
- Jones, Morris, Richmond, Miener, and Freeman each recorded two hits. Jones extended her hitting streak out to seven.
- Miener led with a team and season-high three RBI.
- Richmond finished with two runs scored and two RBI.
- Michaela Mason earned her second win on the season allowing three runs on five hits in 5.0 innings of work.

How It Happened
Greenville opened with a 1-0 lead in the first and extended it out to 2-0 on Kendall Farr's solo shot. In the fifth, the Griffins evened it up.
Grace Harlin led off with a double and eventually the Griffins had runners on second and third after Madison Galczynski walked. Vandermierden stepped in and hit a single up the middle scoring the duo to tie the game.
In the bottom of the inning, though the Panthers got the lead back on Hannah Hoffman's RBI single up the middle. The Griffins got the tying run on base in the seventh but Panthers starter Maegan Stone retired the next three batters for the win.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Vandermierden, Becker, Harlin, and Galczynski each had one hit.
- Vandermierden led with two RBI.
- Richmond went the distance allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits in the loss.
