Fontbonne Softball Dominates Iowa Wesleyan For Game Two Win
ST. ANN, Mo.—The Fontbonne University softball team collected a split against Iowa Wesleyan on Friday in a nonconference outing dropping game one 6-5 but responding with an 11-3 win in game two.

How It Happened
In the bottom of the first the Griffins took a 2-0 lead on Skylar Freeman's RBI two RBI double to center. After the Tigers got one of the runs back in the second, the Griffins added onto its lead in the fourth.
Sara Joines, Freeman, and Hannah Miener each reached base on singles which loaded up the bases for Mackenzie Williams. She came through with an RBI single to left scoring Joines for the 3-1 lead.
After a wild pitch scored Freeman, the Griffins made it 5-1 on Lexi Becker's RBI single to left plating Miener. However, in the sixth the Tigers scored five runs on six hits to lead by one. Fontbonne got the tying run to third but Abby Dameron got the final out for the 6-5 victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Freeman went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.
- Miener added two hits of her own with a run scored.
- Becker finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI.
- Madison Galczynski, Gracie Morris, Sara Joines, and Mackenzie Williams had one hit each.

How It Happened
In game two, the scoring started early again for Fontbonne. Galczynski got things started with a one out RBI double.
After a ground out, Freeman scored Galczynski with an RBI single to right for the 1-0 lead. Grace Paez followed with an RBI double and Williams capped the inning off with her first career home run, a two-run shot, giving them a 4-0 lead.
Iowa Wesleyan got two of those runs back in the third but in the fourth the Griffins scored seven runs on seven hits with Becker (two), Galczynski, Lilly Jones, Kaylee Patton, and Courtney Dingley each recording at least one RBI in the inning en route to the eight-run win.

- Williams led going 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI.
- Galczynski extended her hit streak out to five going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.
- Becker tied Williams with two RBI.
- Freeman, Jones, Paez, Patton, and Dingley each had a hit and RBI.
- Becker improved to 2-1 on the year going 3.2 innings, allowing two runs and striking out two.
