How It Happened
The Griffins got on the board in the first with Lexi Becker and Lilly Jones starting it off with consecutive singles.
After a couple strikeouts and a walk the bases were loaded for Grace Harlin. The Findlay, Ill., native, ripped a double down the left field line clearing the bases giving Fontbonne a 3-0 lead. Patience Vandermierden traded places with Harlin with her seventh double on the season for the 4-0 advantage.
Vandermierden struck again in the third with an RBI single to center scoring Hannah Miener who reached base on a leadoff single. The Griffins added another in the sixth and that was more than enough for Michaela Mason and Lexi Becker with the duo combining for the four hit shutout win.
