Fontbonne Softball Drops a Pair in Abilene

ABILENE, Tx. – The Fontbonne University softball team struggled to generate offense against the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls in both games today.
Game 1 Breakdown
The Cowgirls' bats were on fire leaving Fontbonne with a 7-0 deficit after two innings. The only offense the Griffins could put together was a third inning Gracie Morris single to right center, bringing around Grace Harlin to score the only Griffin run of the game. The Cowgirls compiled 14 hits in five innings, taking the win from the Griffins 9-1.

Lexi Becker: 2-for-3
Grace Harlin: 1-for-3 with 1 run scored
Game 2 Breakdown
The Cowgirls' hitting train came back for more in game two, racking up 11 hits leaving Fontbonne scoreless through six innings. With their backs against the wall in the seventh inning, Abby Alonzo stepped up to the plate and hit a two-out, solo homerun to give the Griffins their only run for game two. Fontbonne ended their disappointing outing against Hardin Simmons with a score of 7-1.
