Griffins Fall Twice to Dubuque

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University softball team fell twice in two games this Sunday to University of Dubuque at home. The Griffins drop to 4-11 overall.
On game one, the Griffins fell short to Dubuque, 10-7.
Sam Foppe started the game in the circle, pitching 2.2 innings. She struck out two while allowing six hits and seven runs. Hannah Borgmeyer went next and grabbed the loss. She pitched 4.1 innings, striking out one while allowing four hits and three runs.
Allysa Ibarra went 1-for-1 and scored one run. Makenzie Howell had one hit and two runs. Grace Paez went 3-for-4 and had one RBI and two runs. Macy Brown also scored two runs. Jillian Mengel recorded four RBI, two hits and one run.
On game two, the Griffins fell 7-2 to Dubuque.
Hailey Kutz pitched the complete game and took the loss in the circle. She struck out six while allowing eight hits and seven runs.
Grace Paez and Macy Brown were the only Griffins that were able to score a run. They also had added at least one hit each. Allysa Ibarra, Jillian Mengel, Ellie Bartlett, Karmen Daniels each recorded a hit.
