Carrow Homers in Softball Sweep over Lyon

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Fontbonne University softball team swept Lyon College this afternoon. The Griffins took a 5-3 win on game one and then an 8-1 victory on game two. Fontbonne improve to 8-13 on the season and 5-5 in SLIAC play.
Following conclusion of game one, Head Coach Roni Knittig was recognized for her career milestone of achieving 50 wins.
On game one, Grace Paez, Ashley Carrow and Karmen Daniels each added two hits. Three other Griffins had a hit.
Madelyn Holtmeyer drove in two runs while three other Griffins drove in one run.
Five different Griffins scored one run.
Sam Foppe took the win in the circle. She pitched the complete game and struck out four while allowing nine hits and three runs.
On game two, Sam Foppe had three hits while Kassidy Chrisco and Allysa Ibarra each had two. Five other Griffins recorded a hit, including a home run by Ashley Carrow.
Ibarra also drove in two runs. Five other Griffins drove in one run.
Karmen Daniels scored two runs. Six other Griffins scored a run.
