Griffins Drop Doubleheader to Greenville Panthers

St. Louis, MO - The Fontbonne University softball team came up short in a doubleheader against the Greenville Panthers, falling in both games despite a strong effort on the field.
Game 1
In Game 1, the Griffin's offense was held in check as the team fell 9–1 in a five-inning contest. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, scoring multiple runs in the first two innings and never looking back. The Griffins' lone run came in the first, when Brenna Foley filed out to second base allowing for Kassidy Chrisco to score. Despite a few defensive highlights, the game was called early due to the run rule.
Game 2
Game 2 saw the Griffins struggle offensively, as the team was held to just two hits in a 6-2 loss. Grace Paez and Ashley Carrow both had an RBI and a run in the top of the third inning.
The Griffins will look to bounce back as they return home to face Principia on Saturday, May 3. The team will also be celebrating their seniors during the games. The first pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
