Eight records, two victories highlight Principia Multis
Elsah, Ill. - Fontbonne track and field broke nine school records, eight on the men's side along with two individual victories at the Principia Multis. Brianna Burnett won the 400m dash with a new PR of 1:03.80, beating the runner-up by .38 of a second as Jennie Stare took first in the 600m run. The men's team finished with 31 points, ahead of conference foe Westminster College. The women's team finished with 29 points, defeating host Principia College.
Sophomore Gabi Cruts ran a season best in the 60m with a time of 8.37 seconds, .04 seconds off her school-record time. Head coach Chris Buckler was excited with how the teams performed, commenting, " I am very excited how we finished indoor season as a team and look forward to our postseason performances and the beginning of outdoor season."
Burnett, Cruts, Chris Graham, Annie McKenzie, Kelly Mundwiller, Craig Niethe and Quinn Wilson have been chosen to compete in next week's Last Chance Meet held at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, fighting for the possibility to compete at NCAA Regionals the following week. The rest of the team will transition to the outdoor season, which opens at St. Louis University March 18-19.
