Griffins held to 6 points in final 10 minutes in their loss to Greenville
St. Louis- Women's basketball is now at .500 in the SLIAC after falling to Greenville today 63-57. Both teams are 4-4 in conference play. The Griffins fall to 5-12 on the season while the Panthers even out their overall record to 8-8.
Fontbonne led by 5 going into the locker room. Greenville was able to come from behind to win the game thanks to the efforts from Laura Hobbie. Hobbie recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds to help propel the Panthers to victory.
With 10 minutes remaining in the game, Fontbonne held their largest lead of the game with 11 points. Greenville would go on a 23-6 run to end the game.
Rachel McCarthy recorded the game-high 17 points on the day. McCarthy recorded her career-high point accumulation off the bench connecting 8 of her 11 tries. Samantha Voetgle was second in points for the Griffins with 11 while also contributing with 6 rebounds.
Panther Coley Baker ended the game with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots. Hobbie recorded the only double-double of the day with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Fontbonne returns to action at Westminster on Wednesday at 6pm.
