Hogan and Voegtle guide Griffins to victory
St. Louis- Eureka jumped out to an 8-4 lead over the Griffins but Fontbonne would go on a 26-2 run for their biggest lead of the game at 30-10 with 7:30 remaining in the 1st half. Fontbonne walked into the locker room with a comfortable 42-27 lead.
With 9:48 remaining, Fontbonne remained in control with a 52-42 lead, but Eureka was able to pull to within 2 with 1:40 to go. Caty Eeten made a 3-pointer with 1 second remaining as the Red Devils only trailed by one. With a foul, Fontbonne went to the line and sunk both free throws to end the game 65-62.
Eeten recorded the game-high 25 points for the Red Devils. All 25 points were scored in the 2nd half.
Allison Hogan guided the Griffins during the game, ending the day with 16 points. Hogan went 4-5 total in the field, connecting on both 3-point attempts, and draining all 6 attempts from the line. Twelve of her 16 points came in the first half.
Samantha Voegtle came in a close second in points for Fontbonne with 15. Voegtle also contributed 6 offensive and 6 defensive rebounds.
