Waverly, Iowa - Fontbonne University women's basketball suffered a rough 86-50 loss at Wartburg College Saturday to open 2015-16 play.
With plenty of returners, Fontbonne's season has gotten off to a slow start as two freshmen reserves scored the most points in the contest for the Griffins. Jessica Jordan recorded eight points and two rebounds in ten minutes while Paige Black scored seven points with three rebounds in nine minutes on the court. Senior Erika Kuhn made the most impact of the starters with six rebounds and five points.
As a team, Fontbonne committed 27 fouls while shooting just under 30% in the field and went 1-for-8 behind the arc.
Fontbonne is back in action this Saturday, November 28th when they travel to Knox College and open play at home with a conference matchup against Blackburn College on December 2nd at 6pm.
